At the bay

Photograph the damage

Attaching evidence to the exact line it belongs to, and who can see it later.

A damaged line can carry photographs, attached to that line rather than to the delivery as a whole. When purchasing opens a claim three weeks later, they can see which item the crushed carton was.

A flat illustration close up on the split corner of a carton, the corrugation showing through the tear, with a phone held beside it framing the damage.
Photograph it while the pallet is in front of you. Three weeks later nobody can argue with it.
  1. 1
Mark the damaged quantity on the line.
  2. 2
Add a photo to that same line. On a phone this opens the camera.
  3. 3
Add a note if the picture does not speak for itself.

Put another way

Photographing a dent on a hire car next to the wing it is on, rather than taking one wide shot of the whole vehicle and hoping.

Who can see them

Only people signed in to your account. Photographs are not on a public web address, and a link copied out of the app does nothing for anybody outside the company. They are also served with caching switched off, so a shared terminal on the dock does not show the last person’s pictures to the next person.

What to photograph

  • The damage itself, close enough to see.
  • The label or part number, so the item is identifiable later.
  • The pallet as a whole if the load shifted in transit.
